Short bio(略歴)

Junichiro Koji is an Associate Professor in the Department of Intercultural Communication at Ryukoku University. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Ottawa, Canada, with a specialization in Canadian Studies. Before joining Ryukoku University, he was an Associate Professor in the Department of International and Regional Studies at the Hokkaido University of Education, Hakodate Campus, where he taught regional politics and policy. He also worked as a research officer in youth policy at the City of Montreal and as a political analyst at the Japanese Embassy in Canada. His current research focuses on immigration and diversity management policy and governance in small centres and rural areas in both Canada and Japan. His other research interests include local and regional development policy, local citizenship, and university-community partnerships in the two countries. His recent publications describe the evolution of immigration policy in Canada and Quebec for a Japanese audience.
