Julian Pigott is Associate Professor in the Faculty of International Studies, Department of Global Studies. He studied music as an undergraduate, and upon graduating left the country, spending time in India, Thailand, and Australia. In 2003 he came to Japan. He has since acquired a Ph.D. in applied linguistics but these days prefers to read and write about media and technology. He runs the Japanese Association for Geopolitical Research. He is married with two daughters, and his hobby is growing vegetables.
